Minnesota Bat Week

Come celebrate the unique role that bats play in our world at the 3rd annual Minnesota Bat Festival during International Bat Week! Discover why bats are important to us all. Explore techniques you can use in your own backyard to help the environment, bats and other wildlife. You will never look at bats in the same way again! There will be scheduled LIVE bat presentations and bat-themed puppet shows. Ongoing activities include: “be a bat scientist,” explore the cave, bat trivia, guano dissection, face painting, bat crafts, batty reading corner, bat house building demonstrations and kit give-away, and native planting for wildlife. Researchers and experts from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, University of Minnesota, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will be on hand to share their knowledge of bats.
